Bio

We Are,
each one,
a variation
on a theme.
There is no
“perfection.”
There is no
“broken.”
There is only
adaptation
to the experience.

I achieved a University Degree (1984) in Psychology and Early Childhood Education; worked with Jungian and Freudian aspects of cognition and interpretation; did my practical at a school with Montessori techniques; and also delved into the philosophy of Steiner Education. Since then I have continued to polish my skills and develop further insights into Psychotherapy and kindred processes.

My Hypnotherapy studies (2013) were with Roger M. Sleet [BA(Hons,Psych)], founding member of INT (Institute of Natural Therapy) in Dorset, and author of “A Guide to Professional Hypnotherapy”. Mr Sleet, when actively practising in the 80’s, had worked effectively with cancer patients, and his unique techniques and experiences were passed on to his students at the Institute of Natural Therapies (The Beltain Centre) in Dorset. Three years later, I completed my Advance Studies in Hypnotherapy with Karen Bartle, Academy of Advanced Changework, Queensland, Australia.

Intrigued by the interplay of religion and the psyche, I practice & study Buddhism; but also study other variations, such as Zen, Yoga and Sufism. My self-studies in religion and spirituality have given me an increased understanding of the metaphor and allegory, which is a very significant aspect of the way I work with hypnotherapy. In delivery, I use a Ericksonian approach of guided dialogue.
